Fall 2006 vibe
Fall 2006 is a return of the dramatic chunky proportions that jewelry has sometimes taken. Think “Diana Vreeland” big, the former editor of Vogue used large signature pieces to set herself as a stage with her necklaces playing the centre role. Her graphic style of dressing was punctuated by bold beads and awesome bangles. A fashion look and a distinctly Maverick look- break the rules-but not to please anyone but you.
One a softer note Bohemian looks continue into the fall after enjoying a spring coming out. Longer strands of beads are back again, gone are the little precious necklaces that have dominated the necks of women for the last few years. The trend for more real color is also continued into fall 2006 but with a richer more European feel, think treasures of the renaissance, rich jewel tones with an adult look.
Women are returning to dressing more the way they feel. A more emotional turn is happening in jewelry. The meaning and beauty of natural stones are highlighted as we turn to these deeper levels of comfort. The trend is not to follow the trend the vibe is personal and mature, self expressive but not gaudy, the right and the wrongs of the fashion rule book are being rejected for deeper personal meaning.
